Our preprint on ‘Tackling deforestation with deep-learning-based cattle counts on satellite images’ is now on Research Square! Together with Jan Wegner, Vivien Sainte Fare Garnot, and Francisco Rocha-Gomes, we developed a deep learning method to count cattle from high-resolution satellite imagery in the Brazilian Amazon, revealing important patterns of cattle intensity and its relationship with deforestation. 🛰️ 🐄
